STORY SACKS

Story Sacks are a great way of getting your child started on their early reading skills. We know the children that have used them have really enjoyed playing with them so if you haven't borrowed one yet and would like to, speak to a member of staff and they will show you how the system works.

SPRINTS RECYCOOL

Cheswick Green under 5's currently collect and recycles old mobile phones, inkjet, laser and toner cartridges, so if you have any going spare please pass them on to us so that we can earn a little bit of extra cash for the group!

WALLETS

Just a small reminder to make sure you check your child's wallet on a daily basis. This way you can keep up with what is happening.

IF YOU WANT TO HELP AT PLAYGROUP

We will be putting a rota out on the front table for you to sign should you wish to come in and help at playgroup.

DON'T FORGET

If you have any concerns regarding your child or with anything that is happening at preschool then please speak to Lesley, Rochelle or Sharon.

Parent Help Rota

We still need your help- especially as we have increased numbers and quite a few 'new' children.
Please see the new Rota Booklet which has been added to the site.

TopStart Training

By the time you receive this all our staff and some committee members will be 'TopStart' trained. This is a physical play initiative using high quality equipment and resources to promote physical education in the Early Years. We obtained a grant to pay for equipment and training from the Solihull Council For Voluntary Services.

We have organised the training in conjunction with Cheswick Green School and the Solihull Borough Childminding Services. We intend to offer physical play on a daily basis and hopefully you will see some the equipment and ideas in action when you come in on rota duty. The equipment consists of such as the parachute and wide range of balls, hoops, markers, quoits etc.

Laminator Service

We have recently purchased a laminator with funds from our Lottery Grant and will be offering a laminating service during Playgroup session times.

The cost will be :-
A4 - 50p per sheet
A3 - Ł1.00 per sheet

Fundraising

Cheswick Green Under Fives is a registered charity and in order to maintain a high quality service for your children we need to regularly fundraise.

Your fees pay for the day to day running costs of the Playgroup e.g. rent, staff wages, stationery etc. We constantly need to purchase new equipment and resources and the only way that we can achieve this is look to other ways of raising money e.g. raffles, sales of Playdoh and cakes, grants, donations and sponsored events. If anyone has any ideas the committee is always grateful!!

Keyworkers

Please remember that should you have any concerns about your child that your keyworker is your "first port of call" and will endeavour to sort out any problems. The List of keyworker groups can be seen on the "staff" noticeboard in the main hall.

Items required for Playgroup Role Play areas. NOW!!!!

Restaurant:- Menus, McDonalds/ Burger King Happy Meal boxes/toys, Chefs/cooks hats/aprons
Post Office:- Used stamps, envelopes, post cards, airmail (new or used), used tax discs, leaflets, brown paper.
Travel Agents:- Brochures, leaflets, maps, guide books
