In order for all the groups to work together co-operatively, efficiently and apply for grants, a committee is required. In order for there to be fair representation a "voice" is needed from each group. The main roles are:-
However, there are many less demanding but equally vital roles e.g. fundraising, admissions and rota.
The committee decides how funds are spent, employment of staff, fundraising and most of all, keeps in touch with day to day issues concenring the groups. This link enables communication between staff, committee and parents ensuring that the groups can 'serve' the community to the best of their ability.
Committee meetings are informal and are usually held once per half-term. An AGM is held in July each year when we hope to encourage all parents to take a role (however small!) in supporting your group. Your group needs a committee and is always on the look out for people with skills that they would be willing to share e.g. accounting, administration and computer skills.
Please note :- Should you take an active role on the Playgroup Committee a proportion of your registration fee will be refunded.
